Yep! Here's another similar example... I got an email this afternoon from The Closing Group with a 2nd mortgage (100 pgs) with full scanback for $60 - in a city I'm not even sure where it is, so it's clearly outside my coverage area! The worst part was this statement: "We apologize if this is not your area as this email goes out to all of our closers in a 25-50 mile radius." It wouldn't surprise me if there are way more than 1000 notaries within that radius.
It's a rather long email with lots of notary requirements and mandates, yet they can't be bothered to try to find someone at least in the same (large) county? I just looked it up and for me, it's more than 70 miles & ~2 hrs each away, whichever way I go... So their "50 mile radius" must be as the crow flies. How many of you have your crow-mobile all fixed up and ready to go? Mine would have to be able to reach an altitude of over 6000 ft, as there's a good size mountain in between.
Either they have to cast a very wide net to find a sucker who doesn't understand the cost of travel and is willing to lose money to entertain themselves, or they're just lazy, with crummy software (or both).
I haven't gotten off their list just out of morbid curiosity to see how bad it can get... and for the comic value, of course. It's usually worth a good laugh...
