some part-time quickbooks work. I am handed a clipboard with an application to complete. WOW. Been decades since I have had this experience, but the next experience is even more bizarre.
The receptionist, in her 80s, tells me her name. Then she tells me it again. About that time, a little black pitbull/black lab comes running at me, and I do pet him thinking that might calm him down, but NO, he has his nose in my crotch, and I can't get him away from me. At one point, the company's owner comes and gets him off me and puts him in an office. He gets out. We haven't even been properly introduced and he's at it again. In a good humored manner, I made the comment that my brother has a puppy like this one, who has not yet learned good manners.
I told SHIRLEY, the receptionist whom I am now acquainted with, that I will complete the application in my car. I go out to my car and realize I can't go back in there for an interview. BTW, the waiting room was packed with job applicants.
I did not return. I was not interested in this puppy being all over me and my work clothes, and I proceeded with my day.
Guess what, they didn't call me either. I guess I offended them that the puppy was a PITA, and perhaps that is part of the screening for work.
No thanks. I must be unsuitable for enployment, even if it is temp, part-time, contract work, through agencies if itt means I have to pass the sniff test.
