Sad state of affairs, indeed... I think it's important to note, though, that there ARE some companies out there (both title co's and signing services) who have raised the notary/signing agent fee they're charging to signers and some of them are actually passing it on to the notary. Wink

It may be limited to the best of the best, but it's happening - and we should be aware of that possibility when negotiating fees, rather than assuming that we need to lower them. It may not work very often, but it never hurts to ask, as long as we have the opportunity to fall back if an acceptable client can't meet our opening offer.
