Re: notary self employment tax

I use a tax preparer who also has been a Notary in the past. I keep track of what are notary fees received and separately what are travel or loan signing fees received.

My tax preparer puts on my return the amount of Notary fees with a notation that are exempt. This is a line item on the 1040, not on the Schedule C.

Since business expenses are normally paper, toner etc. they are business expenses on my schedule C.
