There's been a time or two when I've agreed to stick a regular first class postage stamp on an envelope, but that's about it. It's one thing to not get paid for your time and effort and not get reimbursed for printing and driving expenses, but when you've gone into your own pocket for additional expenses on top of that (even just for Priority Mail), it's like rubbing salt in the wound.
If someone is routinely hiring notaries for any type of signing, but is unable or unwilling (or the client is) to send a shipping label up front, that's a big red flag - and that's one line I'm careful to not cross (especially for that low of a fee). So sorry you got stiffed! |
