Hello David, I haven't been asked to handle a Notary Presentment, which is an old term used for what is now referred to as "Notice of Dishonor/Protest of Negotiable Instrument", but I'm familiar with it and the reason why some people think they can use it. You can look up the meaning of Notice of Dishonor and Protest of Negotiable Instruments and your state's information might come up. It did for Colorado. If the Notary Presentment involves any investment such as stocks, bonds, etc., only a notary employed by a financial institution and acting in the scope of their employment, can make or note a protest. These notaries might be referred to as Medallion Notary Public. |
