If we knew what to do about it, we would have done it a long time ago. This is a pattern some of us have seen multiple times now. Yoli knows what she's talking about when she says that it happens whenever business industry-wide gets very slow.
The people who run these types of promotions aren't thinking about what's good for our industry or for wanna-be notaries/signing agents. That's not their concern. They just realize that their revenues are down and are thinking about different ways of generating more cash-flow for themselves, whether or not their future students have much of a chance of making a go of it or not. There's always a chance any individual could succeed in any given market, but they'd be the exception, rather than the rule. And it would take a great deal of effort, marketing savvy, and time. Most would be much better off, certainly in the short term, pursuing something else. Long term? Who knows...
