Location must make a difference. I never receive any correspondence that could be called rude. I'm often hired at the negotiated rate.
Today I did a signing WAY out of my area. After completing I realized I was too low with the fee. But I didn't demand more money I just sent a note saying, this was the first time I've gone to that county - based on the experience my fee for any future assignment to this county is X.
And on my fees page I added "assignments to X County - limited availability for X fee."
I am not sure what's going on in Eastern Washington, either there's a limited number of LSA or the LSA's don't want to drive the 2 lane highway middle of nowhere no cell coverage areas. I expect I'll raise my fees accordingly.
Everyone's area and experience is different. I do this full time, so counter offering is always worth my time. The local assignments get grabbed in seconds. I am driving a lot as a result. |
