This is a great overview for remote scanning options. I don't do remote scans, but recall seeing this issue discussed a good number of times over the years, including some deeper dives into power considerations, which could be a key issue. (But Yoli's process makes a great deal of sense to me.) So the original poster of this thread might want to do some searches here - or via Google, which might pull up some of those discussions.
One thing near the end your comment about 'scan-to-cloud' caught my attention and reminded me I've wanted to explore security issues about that for some time now. I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll try to start a new one on this issue when I have more time... [I have more questions than answers.  ]
