I work in 6 counties doing title work and when I get slow (like I am right now), I start looking at the new notaries in my area and then take a look at the MIA website to see if they are licensed. Most notaries around here work for attorneys and as long as they are under his supervision at the table, they are not required to have a tpl, but the others that work for title companies that I know are shady, I call the MIA on and my friend emails them "looking for a friend" so we can dig up dirt on them. |
