notaries on turning down these low-ballers! Now instead of the notary having to do twice as many closings to earn a decent living, they have to call twice as much (or 3 or 4 times) to find a notary for whom this is a HOBBY (that's what their pay amounts to)!
I used to politely state my fee & request that they change their records to reflect that, so as not to waste my time or theirs. But no- they just cotinued to call & try to haggle w/ me. My work/ time is not up for haggling, so nowI don't bother to answer my phone when they call - I just hit ignore!
