Hi Michelle.
We had a saying in corporate America: KISS. Keep it simple, stupid. The simplest way for someone to hire us is to come to a site such as Notary Rotary, put in a zip code, find a phone number and call.
It is so impersonal to email, twitter, facebook. The next best thing to a face to face meeting is a phone call where you can here the other person's voice.
I am not sure what you would be trying to accomplish. I do have a couple of clients that will email me with work, but that is only because we have already agreed on a fee schedule. We still follow up with a phone call.
But what if you have to negotiate a fee? Do you twitter back and forth? That is so impersonal and time consuming. This is one time where an actual phone call is best. Not to mention it's a lot quicker.
Of course, I am open to debate ... I just don't think twitter serves any purpose in our line of work. I actually think Twitter doesn't serve any useful purpose at all. I don't have any use for test messaging on phones, either. But that's just me. I like the personal touch. |
