The first time this happened to me, I just assumed the borrowers also knew the loan was canceled. But an hour after I was supposed to be at their house, a very unhappy borrower called and wanted to know where the heck I was! Like you, Linda, I felt really bad for them - and totally disgusted with the lender/LO/whoever - so since then I always call the borrower to cancel. And I'd guess that about 90% of the time I'm the first to tell them. It also works both ways. A few times I've called to confirm with the borrower and they tell me their bank/LO already has called them and canceled! |
