call the TC and let them know the situation (briefly), and suggest that you can still do the closing if the time was adjustable or if they eventually reschedule. They will be less inclined to work the SS if they are new client to them, and may just call you for the reschedule (if you're lucky)
I have found that some TC's are always more willing to work with NSA's that take the positive initiative in getting the loan closed.
