. . . has now solicited the assistance of Ukraine, Russia, China, Australia, Italy, and perhaps Britain to interfere in U.S. elections. Republican senators, representatives, governors, and legislators have all kept silent while their titular leader has blatantly and brazenly tried to undermine the very basis of our democracy -- free and fair elections.
The words flung at Sen. Joseph McCarty by Joseph N. Welch more than half a century ago resonate today, with respect to those craven GOP officeholders, every bit today as much as they did then:
"At long last, have you left no sense of decency?" |
