Because no one on the right has ever done anything wrong and still managed to be elected to office...

If a felony conviction is enough to strip you of your right to vote, it should also strip you of your right to hold public office. But it doesn't.

There was a Republican Congressman in NY recently - can't recall his name, but he was the one who threatened to throw a reporter off a balcony - who was convicted, served time, and ran again for office. Look at Duncan Hunter in CA - mired in all sorts of indictments, yet still managed to win his election in 2018. Why are these people even allowed to run for office? It's not a partisan thing.
