I stand behind my comments. With respect to your condemnation, I have essentially zero tolerance for those who continue to embrace someone who has demonstrably lied or misled more than 16,000 times in three years in office. You lie down with dogs, others are justified in being repulsed by your fleas, and expressing that revulsion.
You have touted at some length your experience under a dictatorship. My reaction to that has been that you obviously learned very little from that exposure, if you cannot see the genesis of an authoritarian regime in the actions of the current administration. My evaluation is not tempered when you compare the U.S. news media to those of totalitarian countries. As someone who spent 30 years of his professional life in the mainstream media, both your judgment and your objectivity are in question when you use quotes to undermine "news" and "reporting." What I spent three decades covering was news and what I did was reporting, sans quotation marks, and that is what I see the mainstream media doing today. You just don't care for the results when viewed through a Trumpian prism.
You wish to be taken seriously, then offer some thoughtful, objective, serious discussion. Embracing an occasional Trump --policy-- will do that. Embracing an elected official as repugnant as Donald Trump will never do it. |
