I don't see him declining the nomination - his ego won't allow it. He can't stand to lose, but he also doesn't want to appear weak. When he loses the election, he will just claim it was rigged and try to get it invalidated.
He has no interest in being President other than how it may enhance his brand and possibly keep him out of jail for another 4 years. NY is going to nail him, and that's what he has to look forward to when his term in office ends. His biggest mistake was running for office in the first place - it raised his profile and drew attention to him. Had he not decided to run, he could have spent the rest of his life grifting in relative secrecy. |
