The Committee presented evidence that Trump scammed his followers to the tune of $250 million by inundating them with emails asking for a donation to the Election Defense Fund.
There never was an Election Defense Fund - a campaign staffer said it was just a marketing ploy. All of that money went into a PAC that Trump controlled, and there is evidence that some of it was disbursed to family, friends, and assorted sycophants - none of it was used for legal challenges. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Junior's girlfriend, was paid $60,000 for a 2-1/2 minute speech introducing Junior at the rally - nice work if you can get it.
So on his way out the door, Trump couldn't resist running one more grift... |
