In CA, as I understand it, abortion is allowed until the fetus is viable - i.e., can live outside the womb. That occurs at about 21 weeks. Is that a long time to make a baby? If you think so, you're gonna be really upset when you learn about elephants...
Anyway, before viability it's a fetus, not a baby.
This is actually pretty much Biblical: life begins with the first breath (Genesis, 2:7). Abortion is not mentioned in the Bible; Jesus never spoke of it. The closest the Bible comes is in Exodus 21:22-25, and that appears to be about miscarriage, not abortion (it speaks of a man's wife being attacked, not about voluntarily deciding to end a pregnancy).
As for Newsome and Pelosi, your very liberal source has a very liberal idea of extended family ties. Common sense should tell you that a relationship through marriage ends with divorce - if my ex-spouse is no longer related to me, why on earth would anyone else in her family still be related to me? |
