From the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:
"Fourteen members of a Texas family became ill, and one died, after a small family gathering in June. After months of social distancing, the family met in Dallas for a backyard barbecue. “I thought that everything was going to be fine,” family member Tony Green told a local TV station. “We’re not even really going out. We’re just spending time together. Hanging out at the house. Grill, you know.”"

My brother and his wife live 20 minutes from me. We've always spent holidays together in the past. I have seen them, at a 6 ft+ distance, only twice since March. I'm isolating myself as much as possible; they're out and about, but taking precautions. I have no way of knowing who they're interacting with, so why would I let my guard down? And this story shows why you shouldn't. |
