I started getting floaters after cataract surgery also, so I don't think it's that uncommon. As Bear said, they either go away eventually or you get used to them.
Speaking of cataracts, here's a fun fact - they can come back, sorta... I'm dealing with a secondary cataract now that has to be taken care of at some point because it's driving me crazy. It's not really a cataract, because the lens was removed and replaced with an implant, and the implants don't cloud. Anywhere from 25% to 35% of the time, The posterior lens capsule (which supports the lens implant) can sometimes start to get cloudy months or years after surgery. The fix is a simple nonsurgical office procedure where they just zap the lens capsule with a laser; that restores clear vision and the problem doesn't happen again. Not that I'm thrilled about getting my eye zapped, but it only takes a moment or two, and the vision in that eye is pretty hazy at this point. |
