One of my neighbors was diagnosed with ocular melanoma at Stanford Medical Center in the bay area yesterday. She is having her eye removed later this month, as it cannot be fixed. It is progressive. She is 12 years younger than me. My heart is sad for her, but thankfully not terminal.
Everyone needs to get eye exams annually without fail. Not something to put off. I feel very fortunate. My vision is much improved after yesterday's last surgery of 3. And wear sunglasses when you're driving or outdoors during the day. |
