Also seems like processed foods with sodium are highly addictive. A lot of people are mostly on one track or another: a good amount of processed foods or largely vegetarian. We spend most of our lives convincing ourselves we eat 'balanced' but the addictions seem to win out. I believe that is the "what is it about" dilemma.
I can say this about changing tracks, or way of eating, if/when you go largely vegetarian the cravings for bad foods dissapate. I seldom eat red meat, dairy, glutton, deserts or fast foods and have no thoughts about missing them.
I say seldom, because when traveling, or with friends and family, I go with the flow but not always. Later, I revert back to mostly vegetarian which is about 85% of my diet now.
Two knee replacements and a healed fractured hip later, I've been back to heavy lifting, gardening, landscaping, and home improvement projects for some time now. No expectations of living longer then the next person, just enjoy feeling healthier then before. |
