Those of you who are old enough remember the Rolling Stone hit "Brown Sugar!" An iconic song of the early seventies that was written by Keith Richards about slavery. It was a popular song, not for its' content but for music and dance ability. Now the Stones have retired it from their repertoire when performing on stage. Because we don't talk about it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Don't we learn from history? But the liberal left doesn't want any reminders of it as if it didn't occur. Masterpieces like Gone with the Wind, Of Mice and Men, Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, To Kill a Mockingbird and many others have been excluded from reading lists. Where are we going with this administration and political party? |
