I'm not sure of the thought process. Is it to reduce the approximate .05% cost of the lender's title policy from closing costs?
Is the intent to have lenders pay for the policy? Then build that right back into pricing?
Since the program is meant for government insured loans only, is the idea to have taxpayers guarantee the lender, turning the GSEs into title companies?
Or, is it:
