I have registered with several companies that offer inspection services. However, I haven't accepted any of the offers for inspections primarily due to the low fee offered. One of the first rationales stated for the low fees is that these jobs are offered to a wide spectrum of "inspectors" and it would be wise to accept it if close to your location OR if you plan on being close to that location for another assignment. Yeah, right!
There was a time when I agreed to a discount on my fee for an assignment because I had 2 other signings in that immediate area. As it all turned out, those other 2 assignments were cancelled/rescheduled and I ended up doing that 3rd signing at the discounted rate (I'd already committed). Never again.
