Long ago, I decided to make it my policy to not do signings from companies without first having an actual physical mailing address for the hiring party. If they're a legit, well run operation, they will be able and willing to provide that. If not, then the chances of having to chase payment (and have a tougher time doing so) go way up. If that information isn't included with the confirmation, I'll ask for it right away, before I print or confirm with the signer. I've turned back quite a few signings over the years because of that, but I like to think it's saved me lots of aggravation, as well as lost time, supplies, and wear and tear on my vehicle from doing an assignment for which I didn't get paid. |
