|  | | Please Note that after 07-01-12, all Lenders, Title Companies, and Signing Agencies who are involved in the closing of residential real estate loans in the state of Georgia are required to use either the lender or a duly licensed attorney with a GA IOLTA account to act as the settlement agent for the closing. This requirement is based upon provisions in GA Code Section 44-14-13 and as revised by Senate Bill 365 effective 07-01-12. Per the code section, I am not the settlement agent and do not perform any part of the settlement by facilitating the signing of the closing documents. Also, by facilitating the signing of the closing documents, I am not aiding any party involved in the transaction in the unauthorized practice of law as defined by the laws and customs of the state of Georgia.
I am a duly licensed Georgia Attorney and Notary and I have been performing In and Out of Office Courtesy Closings usually involving Refinance and HELOC type loan docs since August, 2004. Fees are Negotiated at time appointment is scheduled and are based upon travel considerations, # of loans, and document delivery method (fee for e-docs). Generally speaking I am willing to travel just about anywhere in the state of Georgia if a fee can be agreed upon. |
