Help! Out of state documents

I have completed signings before where the property and borrower were located out of town, in a different state. In the ack. section on final page of deed should I cross out the state & county were the property is located and insert my county and state where the signing is taking place?

Faye
The Venue on the notary certificate should always be the venue where the notarization takes place.
Please study your notary handbook. This is a basic question that as a notary you should know.

Sylvia, that is normally the way I would handle it, but I second guessed myself after speaking with someone at the mortgage company that questioned this procedure.

Thanks

More often than not your gut feeling is the right one.
