Currently Fl Notary - Moving to NY what do I do?
I am currently a notary in the State of Florida. I am moving to New York in the next 2 weeks. Do I need to retake the exam in NY or can I just apply for a NY notary license? Thanks in advance. Bob F.

I am not aware of any reciprocity between any other state and NY.
You could call the division of licensing services in Albany.

Don't forget to resign your commission here. You should submit a written letter of resignation to the Governor’s Office, specifying an effective date, and return your notary commission certificate (the original, not a copy). You should also destroy your seal or return it to the SOS notary division office. Be sure to give them your new address, as the Governor will send you an acceptance letter acknowledging your resignation.

How about journals? Are journals required in FL? In this situation in CA we would have to turn our journal into the county clerk. Just wondering..
