How important is it to have a color laser printer?
I thought I bought one, but since you get what you pay for, I had to return it. Do you have any suggestions for a reliable product? Would sincerely appreciate your input. Thanks.

What docs do you have to print in colo?

You don't need a color laser for docs -- just a blk & white will do nicely and alot cheaper. research "printers" or "laser printers" for lots of info. Most seem to like either HP or brother, a MUST is pcl6. I got a multi-funtion brother 8220 that so far I love, but at some point I want to get a hp workhorse (maybe a 3015tn) I read all I could on the boards, then stared looking for sales. I got my brother at office max for 299$ plus a 50 rebate so ended up paying 250 plus tax. Happy hunting!

I have a samsung ml2250, that I bought new off the internet for $200.00. I have run 7000 pages through it and it's a champ so far. I can only hope it lasts for 700,000 more.

For a NSA, a color laser printer has limited COLOR use; black and white is the only thing we need for loan documents.
If you are going to get one laser printer, then get a plain-paper, legal-size-capable, black-toner-only, PCL (or PCL-compliant) workhorse. The number of pages per minute throughput is going to be important for last-minute edocs. Color laser printers are inherently slower and more expensive, at least in my experience.
You'll find lots of good advice by doing a search on this Forum. I'm partial to HP, but other people like Brother better. A lot of people have a multi-function unit (fax, printer, scanner, copier) for economy.
Good luck!
