Do a search for laser printers and you should have your question answered (numerous times). Opinions vary.

Re: Printers- I like
my Brother MFC 8840D with the 2nd tray. It's probably MORE than what most notaries use but I have no issues and you can get more than the 20,000 pages on the drum, even though that's what it says on the box. I love it. I don't have to do anything but make sure there's paper in there. Love it!

Re: Printers- I like
I think I paid around $400-$500 (after getting the 2nd tray) Yes, it prints both and you can set it up so the faxes come in on whatever paper they are sending (I know some people make it shrink to letter when they don't have the paper always in there type of printers)
But I like it and I have used every feature you can imagine on it.
Good Luck.

Thank you, Thank you, I was looking at the HP website and they did not have exactly what I needed without spending almost 1000.00! Thanks again, Val

Re: Printers- I like
I was told by some one at HP technical support that a fax machine can't signal another fax machine to automatically detect the size of the paper that is being faxed. In other words, the receiving fax machine can't go back and forth automatically form legal to letter size and so forth. Perhaps I misunderstood. Does any one know for sure?
Hope I made sense.

Re: Printers- I like
TCMN - I am having the hardest time getting my 8840D to work off of both trays (thank goodness I have another printer!). My IT person can't get it to work either. I'm going next to Brother support. Any advice in the meantime? Thanks!
