Re-sign & notarize DOT Question

I did a signing in May. SS just called this week to tell me the county wouldn't record the DOT because it had a fax or copy line down the middle. I was surprised because I don't recall notarizing a DOT with a notable line on it. It was overnight docs they sent so it wasn't my copier/printers fault. They are resending me a new DOT for signing and notarization (they agreed to pay me a trip fee). My question is...Doesn't the date on the DOT need to match the Note and other docs?

The date on the new DOT will probably be the same as the old one.
Just notarize it for the date you are getting it re-signed.
