county dilemma
When notaries attach their seal and info to mortgages, do they put the county they live in or the county they are conducting the closing in?

what I've ment was guys your notary stamp has your county on it, not saying that matters just identifies her and wear shes from or took her oath. But the point is when she do a notary on her certificate she is to put the county she doing the notary in.

Not all notary seals have the county on them. The original poster didn't indicate where they were located. In Florida, our seals only indicate we are in Florida, not what county we are from.

Florida notaries are commissioned at the state level, not by counties. Therefore, we are Notaries At Large and our commissions and stamps do not reflect any county, only the State of Florida.

In Kentucky, I have the "STATE AT LARGE" commission and neither on the Commission certificate or on the stamp, does it list the county.

I'm assuming you are from Florida. Therefore I strongly suggest you review your notes from the course of instruction you had to take to get your commission. Then read, reread, and read again, the Florida Governor's Reference Manual for Notaries.
The "venue" which is normally located at the top of the notary certificate, must contain the state and county in which the notarization is taking place.

If you are talking about the venue...
where it says" State of Florida, County of _______", you put the county where you are notarizing in or performing the notarization. If it is the one at the bottom of your signature line, that would be the county where you live.

Maybe. Maybe not.
Please check your individual state's rules!

You need to list the county where the signing is taking place.
