Help PA Notaries
It is almost time to renew my commission. Can anyone tell me how it is done in PA. The NNA website isn't any help.

I'd print off an application from the SOS website and then get your references to sign it and get it to the local congressmans office with a check for your fee. The congressman's office in my town will mail it into the SOS for me.

Or call Notary Assoc of PA..6059 Allentown Blvd. Harrisburg, PA 17112 at 800/366-8279. I got my renewal there for $99.90 and that included everything + a 1 yr membership to NNA. I'm not that impressed with the membership, but this is the cheapest price I've ever paid for a renewal where they do absolutely everything.

You can be reappointed through the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries for $229.21 minimum, which includes your stamp, bond and application fee and a 4-year membership to PAN. PAN does everything for your reappointment but round up your references and sign your name. The membership gives you quarterly newsletters with notary and signing agent information specific to Pennsylvania, access to members-only area on website, and telephone and chat line support.
Call 800-707-7075 or visit www.notary.org and click "Services" tab.

Which is EXACTLY why I renewed with PA Notary Assoc. I started out with PAN years ago and find their reappointment fee to be exhorbitant. Tell me what justifies a fee 1- 1/3 higher than what I'm paying?
