Lenders First Choice

Just received a call from this company out of Texas to do an e-doc signing this afternoon at 4:00. Quoted them my fee for a lender, scheduler had to check. Came back with "we only pay $90 with e-docs. Said sorry, I will come down $25 from my fee but no further. They said, no can do. So searched the messages on this board, and everyone had good things to say about them and that their fee was met. I have SS's that pay me much more than $90 for an edoc signing. Is this the trend now???

If I can get $90.00 for e-docs I am thrilled. I used to get 85.00, and now it is usually 75.00. I did get $90.00 from Lenders First Choice.

Lenders First Choice is an excellent company. One of the biggest and best I deal with. They pay on time in under 30 days. I've never had a problem with the fees. I pay bills thanks to Lenders First Choice.

I rarely have a problem getting my quoted fees from lenders/title, but I think $90 from a lender is much too low.

Are you the J in Humbolt County? Do you know the number of signing agents around you? If you're in a rural area, I would think you could actually get better fees if the area is not saturated.

The Frisco, TX office always pays for farther distances. Perhaps it's because you don't have a relationship with them yet. My sister and I both deal with Frisco, TX but I also have a relationship with the Florida and Semi Valley offices. She doesn't and when Florida called her she had to "start at the bottom."

There are at least 20, and it seems more every day. We are overloaded with Notaries for the size of this area.

Re: J in CA

What part of Humboldt County are you in? My oldest son will be going to Humboldt State this fall. It is so beautiful up there. He can't wait but I am going to miss him terribly! On the subject of Lenders First, it is funny that I live in Simi Valley and one of their offices is located here and I have not received one single signing from them.

Re: J in CA

I went to Humboldt too. Graduated in 1980. Still live near the College. Yes it is beautiful, but it is not utopia...

If I were a novice signing agent, I would start at the bottom but I've been doing signings for over three years and have paid my dues in the way of accepting low fees, and as a new signing agent, that's what you do in order to get the work and the experience. I've set my fees for lenders/titles and don't deviate too far from those fees. I will negotiate, as that's part of the process, but I won't be low-balled.

Their e-docs rates are on the low end, but they are prompt to pay. I did one for them on 05/26 and received payment on 6/10. This one was for the Frisco office.
