Dumb Question.........

On the signature page of the mortgage, if it reads, "Before me the undersigned, a NP for ___________________________ County, State of _____________," do I put the County where I am witnessing the signing or my county of RESIDENCE on that FIRST line?

Thanks.

Re: no such thing as a Dumb Question.........

[commissioned county] acting in [county of venue]

ha, fine point pen, very teeny writing ... we should have contests on who can write the teeniest while keeping it legible.

Look at your feet....

Whatever county they're standing in, is what you put on the venue.

Re: Look at your feet....

How about this:
a NP for "Each and Every" county, State of California? Smile
Seems to me the right answer, but of course I'm sure that's not what whoever made the stupid form was looking for.
