Notary Fees
Hi- I am new to the mobile notary world, and up until just recently only did notaries for my company. I am branching out now, and have no idea what type of fees to charge. I noticed on the State of Texas website it says $6 is the max you can charge. I hope these only apply if someone comes to you. Any one know where I can find a fee schedule for the state of Texas, or can give me an idea of what to charge. I have had several calls, but no idea how much to charge. Don't want to cheat anyone, but certainly don't want to be cheated myself. Help! Thanks!!
Michelle

use the orange seach button at the top of the forum
BTW, I have never "done" a notary. I hope you mean you have only notarized for the company you work for?

Yes, I only notarized for the company I used to work for. In my new company, there are several notaries, so my services are not needed.

Michelle please look for Brenda/Tx profile. She is a Tx
notary and in her profile she has a link to a online book she has written for new NSA. It's free and will give you tons of advice. She also sells some other products at very reasonable rates. Check it out. Beverly

If the signer comes to you, you can only charge $6. As a mobile notary, you will be offered $50 to go do complete packages of loan documents. Only take that if you feel like working for free.

Those are the type of calls I have received. I can tell you I don't like working for free though.
