Notary Profile Naming Rules

Effective immediately, all profile names should meet the following rules:

1) Be in Proper Case,
2) Not contain special characters,
3) Not contain phone numbers,
4) Not contain extraneous spaces, and
5) Not contain superfluous information.

In other words, your profile name should generally match the name your clients write checks to. Here are some examples:

Acceptable Names
=============================
Bob Smith
Smith Mobile Notary
Bob Smith, CSA

Unacceptable Names
=============================
Bob Smith **** CALL ME AT 515-555-5555 ****
Bob Smith and His Party of Seven Swinging Singing Signers
BOB SMITH
Bob Smith, NNA Certified Signing Agent
* * * B O B - S M I T H * * * Best Notary * * * Go Bob!
Bob Smith Serving all of Los Angeles!

In the coming weeks, we will be identifying all profiles not in compliance with the new naming convention and will either change them OR disable them.

"Bob Smith and His Party of Seven Swinging Signing Signers"
Now that would be an interesting signing group. Sounds like a fun crowd. LOL

I see how to change from your forum alias to your name, but how do you add your state to your name so others will know which state you are from???

The "My Profile" page does not have a field called "profile name". I suggest that you rephrase your rule in terms of the fields that appear on the "My Profile" page.

I could be wrong but I think what Harry means is the name that appears when you do a search for a Notary Public in your area. Instead of people just typing in their names, they add alot of other stuff to "Stand Out". When you post a message in the forum, this is the "Author" not profile name.

This probably will cause me some problems, but I can (and will), live with it.
The problem is this:
I use my initials for the name of my business, so R. B. Smith Is the way the checks *should* be written, but in reality, seldom are. My profile should read: R B (Bart) Smith. so, now it'll have to
read R B Smith and no one will *get* it when I say something like Hi, this is Bart.
