Printer Question

I have a HP Laser Jet 1320tn and I am trying to install an upgraded memory card. Seems simple enough, right? I don't seem to be able to find where the memory card should go. I feel a little stupid asking, it seems like it should be easy enough but . . . does anyone know how to install memory card?

Facing the front of the printer the card goes behind the left hand panel. Disconnect the printer and rotate it so that the face of the printer is looking right and make sure that the networking cables are disconnected. Gently take the panel at the top rear side and it should just snap open. Gently pry the memory card from one end out of its socket, note the slots in the connectors and then take the plastic package that the new memmory came in, open the package but before removing the new memory make sure that you ground your self and the package to a metal prt of the printer. Just holding the package and touching a metal part of the printer should equalize the charges. Remove the new memory and insert in the slot and just reverse the process and you should be done.

Re: Charles Ca are still on-line?

If you wouldn't mind, and have a spare minute, would it be alright to call you? I have the panel off and and I still don't see the slot for the memory card.

Aaaaah . . . much better, thank you again.

I didn't see the side install slot initially, it took me two times to get it right but all worth it. Just did a test run and it made quite a difference. Best $20 spent today.

Sorry I didn't get back to Laurie....

I'm taping drywall in an apartment I'm trying to get ready to rent and its not a nice environment for a computer. I'm glad you got it. You can call me anytime (except maybe 10pm to 8am Pacific time unless you really know me well), my profile is public. Expanded memory is a great thing, I wish there was one available for me personally.

I know I'm a little late with this response. #136314

I had the same problem you did with installing the memory so I posted this in case anyone searched. I guess I didn't post it with the right title.

Re: #136314

I searched Printers and Printer Memory I think. I guess I should have been more specific. Thanks for following up though, your link was exactly what I was talking about. Upgrading was definitly the way to go.

Re: #136314

I am so happy with the up grade. I can print docs so much faster and I don't have to babysit them anymore.
Good luck,
b.
