FWIW- Garmin 2720 GPS on Sale $200 off...
Cosco Coupon Book just received, from April 5 to 22nd- unit Online Price is $599.99 instant coupon < $200 your cost $399.99.
Search feature here at NR is really great- plugged in "GPS" and saw all kinds of previous posts.
Been considering a GPS, and the Cosco Book came- so did the Search thing, and found some very interesting info.
Bottom line is- Garmin 2720 sounds like it will work for even a "one arm paper hanger"; or a "Notary Signer", hey?

Awesome- now it's even better sounding.
Wonder why the price break? Are " Smarter- Models" about to come out? Who knows.
Technology is advancing faster than we can get the products made and distributed it seems.
As soon as you think, you found a better mouse trap, and buy it- well it's superceded.

You can't go wrong with a Garmin, and the price is definitely right... I have a StreetPilot c330, which doesn't have features like saying the street names (which the 2720 will do) , but as far as I'm concerned it's the best thing since beer in cans... The accuracy is amazing, and it's a HUGE help when traveling in unfamiliar areas at night.
Don't worry about whether the technology is changing - any hi-tech item you buy is going to be obsolete 2 weeks after you buy it, so there's no way you can ever hope to stay ahead of the curve.

Old technology works
10 year old desktop. Slow but works. Use Quicken about 10 years old on it. Not connected to the internet. Intentionally, no viruses that way.
Old Palm Pilot. Still works.
Old HP Laser Jet 4. Slow but it is trooper. They don't build them with that much steel any more. It weighs a ton.
10 year old 26" tvs.
Original Treo.
Anyone notice the price on plasma screen tvs are dropping through the floor? 50" at $1500 or less.
