Anybody heard of 'Group 9'? I got a call...

from a person to do a signing, who was very vague. He said that he had a signing in our area...

"What company are you with?"

"I represent a title company in Wisconsin."

"And what is the name of YOUR company?"

"Group 9"

Gave me a funny feeling...

Reverse phone look-up...Land line, Menomonee Falls, WI

Doesn't give me anything. I HATE having to be so suspect of slow/no pay, but this is a tactic that SOX has used in the past.

Group 9, if you are legit, I don't recommend you be so vague. I don't want to work for free.

Those of us of a certain age will remember "Plan 9 From Outer Space"... I wonder if there's a connection...

I think the first 8 groups were the previous....

incarnations of SOX. Which is why I have declined working for this company. Would love to know if my gut feeling was correct.

I actually did a signing for them back in Aug. and they paid what i asked for and I received payment the following week. I was surprised that the payment was so quick. I would work for them again. Sounds like the same guy i talked to...he was vague.

That sales office in Melville, NY is about 5 miles from me. I know the building - all high-end clients. Sounds like they're legit.

Thanks to all! I see, Group9...no space?

This is a prime reason I get frustrated. I really didn't want to drive 53 miles one way for a company that would not pay me. He was so vague! Maybe I missed out, but I still didn't want to drive that far anyway.
