Nope...be wary...

http://wsu.edu/~brians/errors/wary.html

People sometimes write “weary” (tired) when they mean “wary” (cautious) which is a close synonym with “leery” which in the psychedelic era was often misspelled “leary”; but since Timothy Leary faded from public consciousness, the correct spelling has prevailed.

Re: Nope...be wary...

Add United Notaries. I am so weary from chasing down non-existant checks from all these people. It seems like they use everyone once.

Re: Nope...be wary...

Another one is people tend to write need "advise" but mean need "advice". I see this one a lot. Fingers don't type what brain is thinking I guess.

If Jesus was a Profit...

...then his followers were apostilles, not apostles.

I don't know about schooling anyone...I had to read Jesus was a Profit three times before I figured out the problem!

Re: Nope...be wary...

"I had to read Jesus was a Profit three times ", well third time is the charm! Also, is that because profit is what we want and therefore, since lacking somewhat, we get excited just seeing it capitalized?

LOL! PS: I really liked the site (not sight) that you referenced. At first I didn't realize it was a quote and was ready to praise your prose, since it profitted my meager laughter quotient for the day.

Bravo!! Standing ovation! Our spelling/grammar police have

not been very alert lately, or just not up to par. We just have fun with it - no offense meant. I got one wrong earlier today - waiting for correction to show... we'll see how long it takes, if ever. LOL

Thank you Beverly, that means so much to me

even if that je ne sais qua quality I bring to the forum is a bit hard to define at times Wink. But if I didn't transfer the blame to the computer then it would be my fault and I know from observation that I must have some Constitutional right to transfer the blame somewhere, don't I? Just kidding of course, everyone knows that I just can't type worth a darn! You do know that don't you, don't you? Smile

The whole discussion did. I went from thinking about my collections to trying to spell Apostles! Thanks!

Reading this board would make you wary and leery

of all those companies. The Escrow Factory is the only one which has a low number of bad discussions but the one I found was not reporting nice things.

Do a search. After you read up on how many notaries have problems with Sox, Signatures Plus, et al...you'll not only be wary, and leery, but also weary.

That word "leery" bugs me. I think it sounds like a descriptive word for someone who leers a lot.
