I did a overnighted docs to borrower 8 miles each way for $125. Isn't nice while C/W is reducing rates to the notaries? They must have needed this badly.

If good notaries start to refuse signings for peanuts, then we can affect a change. Conversely, if there are notaries out there that think they are going to "get some business" by accepting bargain basement rates, then more power to them. I would rather NOT work than accept pennies for a loan signing. If everyone were to stick to their guns and accept work that pays properly, then we wouldn't be having these problems. I've been doing this for eight years now, and you have to walk away (or "fire"Wink some companies. It has NOT affected my business, and I always get paid, because I work ONLY for acceptable rates and companies that pay. I am currently (even in these times) still running at 80% of what I was formerly getting each month, January through July, and it has even improved on that this month so far.
