I need to get a mental health day away from this soggy coast and thought I run down to Alameda for the weekend.

Not yet, Charles. Supposed to rain today and be clear all

weekend. It's just now clouding up. Come on down!

"Soggy coast" - I like that! Having grown up in Arizona, rain, fog, cloudy/overcast days is just my cup of tea.

Re: Not yet, Charles. Supposed to rain today and be clear all

I love the East Bay, it is just about the perfect mix of weather and Alameda being hidden in the wind shadow of Mt Sutro makes it just great. Up here in Mendocino when the rain settles in, it just keeps raining and raining and raining. It's going on the third day and it's that really fine rain that just soaks everything. Of course the mushrooms will be popping in November: that's something to look forward to.

We do have, as you say, just about the perfect mix of

weather here. Only 1 or 2 weeks a year of really hot weather.

Re: Good morning form Southern Oregon. I just got a call...

from Costco. My new tires are in. They are Michelin's (65 thousand miles) for $549. I got $60 off and will get my 2% at the end of the year. They sure beat Les Swabbest tire too their 50 thousand mile tires are $599. I just wonder how long it will take to drive 65 thousand miles. I got a quiet tires too. Have a great day everyone. Smile

I use the same tires and they do get at least 65k

I know the last set went almost 72k before the wear bars were even close to showing. Now YMMW but a set of Michelins lasts me about a year and a half and the way I drive the speed rating gives me a great deal of comfort to know that I have a margin. They are great tires and I've been using them for many years. I get mine at Costco, they are maintained at Costco also and they do a great job with the tires. Make sure that you rotate them regularly, keep them properly inflated and be care of the siewalls, their only weak point but that is what makes them so comfortable and its really not taht weak. My daughter, learning to drive ,damaged a sidewall by hitting the curb too many tiimes on turns.

the last set i got came from sears...they were....

michelin 85,000 mile tires.....i am on the interstate most of the time @ 75 mph and feel perfectly safe.....altho i could have had a scare as one day when i was pulling out of the drive at the service garage i blew the sidewall on the right rear tire---on the inside.....go figure....it blew right out....thank God i wasn't doing 75 when that happened, but i swear by michelins.....we don't have a costco here....YET.........
