Is Tennessee an Attorney Only State?

Okay, I'm confused. I thought it was, and for a Notary/Signing Agent to do a signing, an attorney has to be present. My friend just refinanced her house and the notary came to the house to sign she and her husband. Could someone from Tennessee, please enlighten me?
