Lia Signing

Lia called me today for a signing in the evening. when I mentioned that some notaries complain about not getting paid and or the payment has come as late as 90-120 days, the guy said that we always paid our notaries. I said I will on this one then he hung up on me. Rude

After I was stiffed $200 by Premier Document Solutions, I read this board very carefully. Thanks Harry. The membership is worth it.

"The guy said that we always paid our notaries"

He's right as far as he went.

But he omitted the fact that LIA commonly pays 60-90 or more days out---per many posts on this board and others.

Ya did good telling him to peddle his wares elsewhere.

Great.....

I guess I was lied to as well - told all past due invoices would be taken care of by the 15th. On the 17th I will be 60 days. Never again.

I was recently paid for 3 closings in August. Be happy that they are paying even if they are a little slow, it could be worse!!

Just did one for them a "modification" for a big lender. I told them that they have some negative publicity on the boards...they said they would pay me in 30 days....I said great b/c if you dont I will contact the lender and the title company. I think that they got the hint! And FYI- I will overstep my boundaries when it comes to my money. And I dont really care if that gets me into some hot water. This is a little singing service and I am not getting burned by them. I guess that time will tell...we will see!

They will tell you anything!

I told them I would contact their lender on the modification slow pay. And he said go ahead-they know our terms are net45. Good luck on getting your dough in 30 days-I will bet against it.

I find this statement odd - be 'happy' that someone is paying for a job that was contracted for and completed?

You are a signing service, correct? What are your payment terms, if I may ask?

Actually it is best to tell them your payment terms and requirements, and have them indicate their agreement thereto in the confirmation. Makes it much easier to collect from a delinquent client.

The times I've worked for him, Steve has paid me within 2 weeks. He's one of the good ones.
