had borrowers try to sell me this

... just last week. I checked out bwr's website and watched the long video. Looks like MLM to me. Personally, I'd be better off putting the big bucks toward the principal of my mortgage. Plus, the whole system's kaput if the law is changed re the deductability of HELOCs.

Re: had borrowers try to sell me this

THE problem with dumping money towards your 1st directly is that there is no emergency fund, if you send extra money directly and then in 6 months or a year, somethig happens and you need to get access to that money, you must agree that there is no chance you will get that money back form company unless you refi. also dont worry about tax deductability, you are never having a big enough balance on this new heloc to really hurt you or need deductablility, also you would rather pay interest in the hopes that you can write it off, please dont tell me that someone talked you into believing that, if you have a dollar and a quarter on the table in fron of you, which do you want, the dollar now and pay taxes later or pay 1 dollar now and write of 25cents later, still paying the 75cents, no one will ever tell me or talk me into believing that garbage

"Looks like MLM to me"

It is MLM. It is only profitable if you can entice people to follow you.

Incidentally Chris, I find your messages with the "punctuation" you use very difficult to read. Your first post in this thread looks like one long sentence and is too tedious to read - or take seriously.

Also, I have been around this forum several years and haven't seen ads for Mary Kay etc, and when someone advertises, then Harry deletes the message as it violates the rules for this forum.

I read this article on Bankrate.com a couple of weeks ago. This gives some new information about the program.

Just a little self serving, dontchathink?

I see you've been peddling this on Ning, so let's be honest here. You're trying to make a buck off of this yourself. All I'll say is that everyone should do their due diligence. There's plenty of info and talk about U1st and their program. Thank God for Google. And anyone that does a quick search can see the tactics employed to try to bully and sham people. U1st people are all over various forums trying to shout down anyone who doesn't think their $3500 software and spreadsheet is a gift from the Gods. The exact same tactic you've employed here.

And I've re-read Alice's thread, no one attacked her personally.

one would EVER guess he's selling some of that snake oil. Not with all that venom that's literally dripping off of his post.

How the heck did you manage to read that post? My 2nd grade grandson would have done better - it looked like one big sentence of gibberish. I read a few lines and gave up.

Hey genius, the Macquarie guy was me.

I paid closing costs of $950.00 and I am currently at 6.25%. My ytd interest so far is $4950.00 and am on track to pay it off in 4 more years. Which means that I will have paid my 30 year note in 5.75 years. Now if you can show me that if I had paid you $3500.00 I would have done better, I'll certainly listen. As of today though I am full up of snake oil, so peddle your wares somewhere else. I know it is shocking, but there are a group of folks who can run their own financial house without a nanny.

all you losers who say it is snake oil will soon be feeling the bite, this is the real deal.
and in about a year when half of the country is on this program, and all you notaries are out of work, begging for somethig to do, no one will help you , because you can't help yourselves,.
oh and what because i am not using your proper grammar, you have to find something else to complain about, what a bunch of idiots

Oh, Brother......

First of all...I'll bet your real name isn't Chris Montana. Second of all...I'll bet you're not even a Notary. Third....if you want to see an IDIOT....go into your bathroom and look in the mirror.

There are educated, knowledgable people here that have been on this board longer than you've been walking upright and they know a scam when they see it. BTW send ME $3500.00
and I'll promise you anything. Geez...what a turd. Thanks for your first (and I hope your last) post. Quite amusing...

Re: not enough work

Don't know about you, but using my Excel spreadsheet, figuring my budget, looking at the interest deductibility I figure that I'm o.k. using most of the concept. I'm cutting down both my 1st and my equity line all without spending $3,500 on software that tells me when to do what I am already doing. I personally don't believe in trying to sell something that I wouldn't use myself.

Big Sky Notary (Notaries) - Chris Montana

I thought I remember his name. I did a closing for him in Feb 06 under the name Big Sky Notaries. Have my files stored away from 06 so I can't readily look up the confirmation. I was paid in 24 days looking back on my spreadsheet.

I know this has nothing to do with what he is promoting, but he is (was) a signing service at one time.

Re: Big Sky Notary (Notaries) - Chris Montana

WOW, it is amazing, when someone post's something that is not a complaint about there not being work, people have to start jumping all over them.
oh and by the way, i am a notary and i have been doing this business for almost 10 years and have closed over 15,000 loans myself, so i do know what i am talking about. Oh , i am sorry again that i don't have a degree in typing, so if i mis spell something or it is not in proper English, please forgive me. for he who is doing it himself, kudos! you are 1 of the 5 % of the people who can do it themselves. However, if you look at an alternative and possibly add some discretionary money to your heloc and then transfer extra money to principal to your 1st, you might be able to save a couple more years and more $. And for the person who said i am a signing service, i only have the name of a signing service so that i can get a better tax break. If i gave you work, it was because my biggest client probably asked me to see if i could find someone to help out in a jam. Everyone thinks that their way is the best way, and my posting what i said only fueled the fire that not everyone is as smart as they think they are. And for grampa who says that he or she has been doing this longer then i have been on this earth, you must be a dinosaur, i am in my early 40's which means that you are ancient, and i am sad for you that at your age you are still a notary, i certainly wouldn't be promoting that fact that social security wasn't enough to support your habit, so back on the street you go!!

I hope other u1st people show more professionalism.

Because you certainly don't portray yourself as someone anyone would want to do business with. I wouldn't buy a Tic Tak from someone as unprofessional as you. Chris Montana? Is that your real name or your porn name? I hope it's not your real name, because you've just left a pretty poor impression of yourself to anyone who decides to check you out before spending $3500.

Sorry to hear about your failed signing service. Brace yourself for another failure.

Yes, that's he's real name.

I dug out the confirmation from 06. I said Feb but it was Jan 06. Still paid in 24 days.

Big Sky Notaries Inc.
Plainfield, IL

Tristar Title was the TC. IL shut them down.

I even remember our conversation when he called me. I thought with the name Montana and his company was Big Sky, I thought he was from Montana and was surprised when the confirmation came that he was in IL. I had vacationed in Big Sky country in 05.

I also have to say that he is 1 of 2 people that have ever hand wrote me a thank you and also wrote job well done when I received the check. I appreciate that. I was sent the wrong docs and had to re-print a 2nd set. I was also paid for that with no problem.

So obviously LJ, if i paid you in 24 days, then i must be true to my word, i always promise to pay within 30 days.
If more people were open to change, then more notaries would be making more money and less complaining.

Re: I cut my tail off, look how fast I can run:-o

Ok Ok, now that i truly pissed everyone off. I just wanted to see how fast this stuff would make it around the forum. Listen, everyone has there own way of paying off their home. Some ways work better for some then others. This way works for me and a bunch of others.
Do I expext everyone to understand what i am doing ? No. I don't. As far as putting on some poor judgement, i could have said the same for each of you. As soon as someone had an opportunity to share, everyone jumped on them right away. instead of asking what it was about, you all condemned me before you knew what it was all about. When was the last time someone paid a couple grand in closing costs to refinance their home. you all see it everyday. This program does cost a couple thousand dollars, but it does work, i would think that saving 173,000 dollars in interest that would have normally gone to the bank is a great thing. i think that 3500 bucks to save $173,000 is a great trade. Like i said earlier, sorry that this topic pissed you all off. It was a test to see if you all would bite my hand for just merely passing out valuable info. i guess i was right.

If you want to succeed in business - any business - I suggest you find some old Dale Carnegie books and learn how to deal with people. Like Al said, I can't imagine anyone wanting to be in business with you with the attitude you have displayed here -- even if your business concept were the greatest thing since sliced bread...

Re: I cut my tail off, look how fast I can run:-o

Like i just said, i am not trying to cover my tracks, all i was doing was to see why everyone was jumping all over alice for introducing this product to you. No one in this forum even asked what is the product, or how does it work. everyone immediatley gave her crap. You all also gave me that same crap for trying to defend her, i checked into this product and found that they did their beta-tests, it is proven to work, and it is gauranteed to work or you get your money back. I was not trying to bully anyone. I did feel like i was tossed into a pit of wolves. I promoted a service to a group of notaries, who by reading the forum, were looking for something, something to add on to the income. It has been a slow year for alot of us. But all of a sudden, as soon as i defended myself, i was chewed up and made to be like a salesman selling snake oil. of course i was going to fire back with what i said.
how would you guys feel if you truly believed you found someplace that could really help people and you could earn a good part time income, and you wanted to share it with your fellow notaries, then after you do intro it to them , they start to stone you for even bringing it up?

Chris is right. . .

. . .now everyone who reads the forum knows about his program - cheap advertising.

As for me, I think I'll stick to the $39 Invest in Your Debt (IYD) class I took at the community college on Saturday. Pay off ALL your debt - not just your mortgage - on your current income in 7-10 years - no get rich quick schemes. It takes discipline and commitment and maybe a tiny bit of sacrifice, but most of us can do all that.
