Sorta OT: Mea culpa for Web 2.0 comment

Ok, I confess to ignorantly commenting on a subject I'm clearly unfamiliar with.

Someone on here send me a PM, suggesting I google the terms "viral" and "web 2.0," which I have done and have realized there's nothing particularly sinister about them.

However, I remain unable to get my head wrapped around how it becomes a business model in a social networking arena. If anyone can enlighten me in plain English, it would gratify my purely academic need to know.

(Need a grimacing emoticon, here)

Re: Web 2.0 info

Read the Forbes article about "viral" marketing for a greater understanding.

Note: I just shortened the actual link from:

-ebay-ent-tech-cx_eb_0601everythingventured.html

oops, is tinyurl viral marketing, too?
